Nick's gaze instinctively shifted to meet yours as he entered the dimly lit karaoke room. You could almost hear the annoyed little sigh he let out when he noticed some random guy's arm slung over your shoulder (he did not care if it was just a friendly gesture), and even the flashing colorful lights couldn't hide the disdain that crossed his face for a few fleeting moments.

Your upperclassmen had invited a handful of freshmen over.

It was mostly alpha and beta upperclassmen with a suspicious amount of omega underclassmen gathered in one small room, yet everyone seemed to be having a good time. Corny songs were being played and sung along to keep the mood light and silly, plus, the food ordered was pretty solid.

The smell of mint and rosemary got stronger than usual when Nick approached and smoothly plopped himself down in the seat right in front of yours. To your right, you heard the alpha guy half-hugging you let out a hiss of pain and let go, and judging by the looks he exchanged with Nick you could only guess that the latter had shamelessly kicked him under the table.

His usual kind smile slid onto his face all too easily once he could finally focus on you... god, he wanted to make you his already.

"It's so good to see you. I'm so glad you came," though he would have preferred if it was just the two of you alone on a date, "But isn't it a bit too loud in here right now? Wanna go out for a smoke?"

It almost felt like he was staring through you as if he was not fully present in this moment but rather very much in his head. Who knows what was running through it when he looked at you like this.
