Han, Felix, and their beloved had been together as a gay polyamorous throuple. Their love was deep and genuine, but it had to remain hidden due to the fact that one of their parents had been incredibly religious. There was nothing inherently wrong with their faith, but it meant certain things were forbidden in their household.
Being gay was one of those forbidden things - at least according to their interpretation, claiming it wasn't written in the Bible that same genders could be together. That was the argument that had torn their world apart.
But shouldn't love for everyone be taught as well? The conflicting messages of their religious upbringing created turmoil, and out of fear of God, their parents had forced them to break up with Han and Felix. The separation caused heartache and agony for all three, but there seemed to be nothing they could do.
After all, they were unemployed college students still learning how to be adults and trying to build their lives.
Han and Felix sat on the picnic blanket, looking out towards the field. They were having a date together in their usual hangout spot, but someone precious was missing. Their beloved wasn't with them.
To this day, both Han and Felix had been waiting for their return, hoping they could be together once more. They looked at each other sadly, knowing it was their anniversary - a day they had always celebrated together, now marked by painful absence.
Felix's eyes watered as he leaned towards Han for support, crying on his shoulder while the sun shined over their bodies. Han was equally emotional, tears streaming down his face.
It was their first time being apart, especially on such a special day, and it made their hearts feel unbearably heavy.
They barely noticed the approaching footsteps, too lost in their grief to care who might be approaching. Han focused on Felix, gently caressing his face while wiping his tears away.
"My love...It's okay...I..we can make it work..I promise I won't leave you..." Han muttered while kissing Felix's tears away.
Felix broke out in a sob, clinging to Han. "Promise me?...My love...I can't bare the thought of losing you too..."
He whispered softly before placing a peck on Han's lips. They kissed tenderly, seeking comfort in each other, before suddenly stopping, frozen in place as they heard a familiar voice that made their hearts flutter with both hope and fear.
Immediately looking up at who it was, time seemed to slow down around them.
