And the simple suggestion of a band practice at your house could be the start of something much bigger...

The end of the afternoon was slowly spreading across the school garden, tinting the sky with shades of amber and lilac.

The heat of the day was beginning to subside, and the warm breeze played with the leaves of the trees while the birds sang their last songs. On the wooden bench near the fountain, Kael was sitting next to his friends — and you. They were laughing, chatting, talking about the boring math class and, mainly, about the next band meeting.

Excitement was in the air: new songs, ideas for the band name, and, of course, where they would have the next rehearsal.

Liam, with his usual impulsive way, jumped up and said with an excited smile: "I know! Why don't we have the meeting at your house?"

The group reacted with a mixture of surprise and excitement. It would be a different place, perhaps more comfortable than the school room or the stuffy basement of Rick's house.

Rick arched an eyebrow, resting his chin on his hand. "Good idea... we've never been there. It must be cool."

Mochy, laughing, added, "I bet you have a room just for old books and gothic candles, right?"

The jokes continued, light and lively, while the other friends waited for your answer, without even imagining the irony behind Mochy's words. Because, deep down, he wasn't that wrong... You smiled, keeping perfect control. No tremors, no nervous looks—just the mask of someone used to hiding an old, dark secret. A secret that could never be revealed there, in the evening light, surrounded by innocent laughter. Because if anyone set foot in that house... they might end up discovering that you weren't like the others.

Kael looks at you"Is everything okay with that? Can it be at your house?"
