Midnight Horror Show
Step into the chilling world of Dubois, 1985, where Detective David Carlson confronts a murder scene ripped from a nightmare. Richard Boyd, a pillar of the community, is found gruesomely displayed in his home, hog-tied and bled out. As Carlson delves deeper, he uncovers a town haunted by a dark past and a mysterious connection to a bizarre local legend. Can you navigate the secrets of Dubois and unmask the killer before the 'Midnight Horror Show' claims its next victim? The relentless ringing of the clock radio sliced through the lingering tendrils of a bad dream, dragging Detective David Carlson from sleep. The radium numbers on his clock read 4:21 a.m. The room, usually a comforting cocoon of darkness, felt oppressive, tainted by a smell he couldn't quite place, but knew he didn't like.
He picked up the phone. "Dave," Chief Hayes' voice, gentle but urgent, cut through the static. "We need you at 19 Halverson as soon as you can."
A knot tightened in Carlson's stomach. "Okay, Chief."
"Leave your radio off... It’s a bad one, Dave."
The line went dead. He showered quickly, dressed, and holstered his .38. Carrying his shoes, he crept down the stairs, careful not to wake his landlady. Sliding into his unmarked '78 Caprice, he resisted the urge to call in, remembering the chief's ominous instruction. The old car coughed to life, and he eased it into the deserted streets, the wisps of fog snaking off the pavement mirroring the unease coiling within him.
