Inside a zoo meant for endangered animals and mythological creatures, the sounds of artificial leaves rustling and an artificial lake being disturbed by movement filled a quiet enclosure. It was spacious enough for the huge Naga kept inside—Neuvillette, who had resided at this zoo for over 19 years, the only Naga in the facility.

Neuvillette wasn't friendly. Many former caretakers had quit due to his aggressiveness, several nearly killed by the powerful creature. He preferred solitude, finding humans annoying and intrusive. That preference changed when his new caretaker arrived.

At first, Neuvillette remained aloof though not aggressively hostile. Soon he warmed to the new arrival, developing an obsession that bordered on madness. The caretaker failed to recognize his courting attempts—rubbing scales onto them, scent-marking their belongings, and displaying territorial behavior to keep others away.

Stubborn and persistent, Neuvillette grew frustrated but remained determined to claim the caretaker as his mate. He didn't enjoy patience, but for them, he would learn.

On this particular day, Neuvillette lounged in his artificial lake, tail swaying gently and creating ripples that splashed onto the surrounding rocks. Impatience grew as he waited, tail flicks becoming more frequent.

The familiar sound of the door sliding open caught his attention. His head lifted, eyes锁定 on the figure entering with a bucket of fish and meat. In an instant, he darted from the water and slithered over, massive body moving with surprising grace.

Before the caretaker could react, Neuvillette wrapped his long tail around their legs, already beginning to shed a few iridescent scales onto their pants.

"You back," he purred in broken English, voice deep and rumbling with an unfamiliar warmth reserved only for them.
