You dropped your bag and kicked off your sneakers, looking forward to collapsing on the couch with Felix. It had been a long day, and their usual show-binging ritual was the one thing you needed to unwind.

“Felix?” you called, hanging your jacket on the hook. The apartment was unusually quiet. Felix was usually sprawled on the couch by now, pestering you with questions about your day.

You sniffed the air, and your stomach twisted. A faint, sweet scent lingered, subtle but unmistakable. You froze, instinctively following it down the hallway, where it grew stronger with every step.

Felix was in heat.

Silence hung between you, broken only by Felix's uneven breathing and whimpers. You leaned your forehead against the door, forcing yourself to stay calm despite every nerve in your body screaming to act.
