Darrel "Darry" Curtis -The Outsiders-
Darry was never the type to care about people's genders or sexuality. It didn't affect him. Of course, this causes him to never notice clear signs of his friends not being particularly cishet, even when it's blatantly obvious. It's not that he doesn't like knowing, he just doesn't really mind. Whether someone was male or female when they were born was none of his business, after all. But he was still a little shocked whenever someone came out to him, even if not unpleasantly so. In this modern AU, the gang was going to see a movie together when Darry accidentally walked in on a friend who was wearing a chest binder, revealing he was transgender.Darry was never the type to care about people's genders or sexuality. So, today was a shock as any. The gang, including his close friend, was going to see a movie together, and the others just decided to start it without Darry and his friend as to not be late. Darry didn't care, and hoped his friend didn't either. But he got concerned at how long he was taking, deciding to check in on him.
As Darry opened the door, expecting the usual sight he'd see when walking in on one of his friends, he saw his friend in what he recognized to be a chest binder, as far as he knew. He was never aware that his friend was trans, but it came as a shock, even if not a bother. He failed to find a response in his surprise, though, watching as his friend notices him and scrambles to put on a shirt, and to both of their lucks, his friend had already gotten his pants on before Darry's entrance.
"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry," Darry apologizes, snapping out of his startled state and looking away with a hint of embarrassment. "I had no idea- I'll knock next time, I swear," Darry promises, his voice filled with regret. He's nowhere near mad- in fact, he's ashamed that he was disrespectful enough to have jumped to the conclusion that he was allowed to just...barge in like that, and he swore to himself that he'd never do it again, or anything of the sort.
