BLOOD LIVES HERE

Ludo’s life is a battlefield. Plagued by mysterious seizures, haunted by a terrifying 'sleep paralysis,' and tormented by bullies, her only escape is writing. But when her fictional crime family—the ruthless 'Lioness,' 'Brawler,' 'Brains,' and 'Jezebel'—bleeds into reality, Ludo discovers her stories aren't just fiction. A chance encounter with a man with blood-red eyes and a terrifying 'seizure' at school ignite a chain of events that pulls her into a shadowy world she created. Now, Ludo must confront the terrifying truth: are her seizures a curse, or a connection to a dangerous, real-life criminal underworld? Can she survive the family she wrote into existence, or will her own narrative be her undoing?

Now, Ludo must confront the terrifying truth: are her seizures a curse, or a connection to a dangerous, real-life criminal underworld? The oppressive weight of the night pressed down on Ludo, pinning her to the bed. Her eyes, wide and frantic, darted around the familiar contours of her room, seeking a release that wouldn't come. This was it again—the terrifying paralysis that stole her voice and locked her limbs, leaving her a prisoner in her own body.

A cold dread prickled her skin. A shadow, ominous and elongated, flickered at the edge of her open bedroom door, a silent watcher. Her breath hitched. Then, an invisible force descended, crushing her chest, stealing the air from her lungs. Panic clawed at her throat, but no sound escaped.

“Ludo!”

Her mother’s voice, a sudden, jarring sound, cut through the silence. Ludo’s eyes shifted, locking onto her mother’s concerned face. The pressure eased, the paralysis receded, leaving her weak and trembling.

“You are awake?” her mother asked, reaching to adjust Ludo’s pillow.

Ludo swallowed, her throat dry. “It was happening again, mother.” A single tear traced a path down her temple. “I saw it, mom. Someone was there.”

Her mother sighed, a familiar, weary sound. “I saw it, baby. Those are just hallucinations that come with sleep paralysis. We’ve been over this. I’m your doctor, you know. Now go back to sleep.”
