Undercover Reunion

Thirty years after high school, Melanie and Katie find themselves entangled in a high-stakes spy game when their former classmate, Wyatt Gaynes, resurfaces as the suspected head of a global criminal organization. Can these two ordinary women, with their hidden talents and shared past, navigate a world of deception and danger to expose Wyatt and protect those they love, or will their reunion prove to be their undoing?

The air in the windowless concrete room was thick with the scent of stale dust and rising panic. Melanie ran her fingers along the rough blocks, searching for a seam, a crack, anything that might hint at an escape.

"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Chuck's whine echoed, shrill and grating.

Melanie gritted her teeth. "Shut up, Chuck. We're not going to die." If he didn't stop, she might just kill him herself. She glanced at Katie, who was meticulously dusting a section of the floor near Eric and Chuck, both of whom had already succumbed to despair. "Katie, any luck on your side?"

Katie sighed, pushing a strand of white-blonde hair from her face. "No, Mel. However Wyatt built this place, he made sure whoever or whatever he put in here wouldn't be able to get out."

Eric, still tracing patterns on the wall, mumbled, "He's right. That warning shot he fired… it wasn't a joke."

Chuck scoffed, though his voice lacked conviction. "Oh, Eric, you always overreact. Wyatt loves a practical joke. He'll be back."

Melanie’s eyes met Katie’s, a silent understanding passing between them. Wyatt Gaynes had changed, and this was no game.
