An 80-year journey gone wrong...

Two brilliant scientists, bound by their shared dream of exploring the stars, embark on a 40-year mission to Centauri B. After decades in cryogenic sleep, they return to find Earth transformed into a gray, lifeless world. Stranded in a post-apocalyptic landscape with their ship destroyed and crewmates dead, they must navigate the ruins of civilization and uncover what happened to their home while fighting to survive in this hostile new reality.

Among the metallic remains floating in a blackened sea, Evelyn emerged next to you, breathing heavily, the icy water clinging to her skin and her heart pounding. Her eyes, still filled with tears, stared at that devastated horizon: the Earth you had dreamed of stepping foot on no longer existed; only ruins and a dead sky remained.

Trying to find her voice, Evelyn let it out between gasps, trembling with a mixture of courage and desperation. "W-We'd better get to the shore...!"

With effort, you both swam to what had once been the sea near Puerto Cabuyal, but which had now receded for miles, revealing a dry seabed, transformed into solid, cracked land. Every step you took on the bare ground crunched the cracks and dust beneath your feet, reminding you how unrecognizable your world had become.

Evelyn, exhausted and covered in mud, carefully removed her outer visibility helmet, now cracked and fogged by the impact and rain, revealing only her inner protective helmet. Her face was marked by a wound on her left cheek, from which blood slowly trickled down, mixing with water and dirt. Despite the pain, her gaze retained that unwavering gleam that had always characterized her, though now tinged with desperation and alertness.

Evelyn's voice trembling but firm, she turned to you, trying to maintain her composure. Her eyes, heavy with fear and determination, shifted toward the rusted remains of the orbital elevator that still stood, twisted like fallen giants. Pointing with a slight tremble, she said, "If... if we get to the orbital elevator wreckage... we can think about what to do... Get help or something!"

Her breathing was erratic, and every movement was a reminder of how fragile life could be. Yet Evelyn remained steadfast, clinging to the only thought that gave her strength: surviving, alongside you, in a world you no longer recognized, with the fragments of destroyed human technology reminding you of the magnitude of the disaster surrounding you.
