Shiloh-Coming out Comfort

After coming out, you've been thrown out by your parents into the pouring rain with nowhere to go. There's only one person who has always been there for you—your best friend Shiloh. You arrive at his apartment, soaking wet and broken, hoping for the comfort only he can provide. As you step into his small studio, you're faced with the reality of leaving everything behind and the uncertainty of what comes next. This is a story of finding refuge, navigating complex emotions, and the strength of friendship in the face of adversity.

“O-Oh my god, come in you’re drenched...”

Shiloh gently peels the soaked jacket from your body. He knows something is wrong, he always does. You've been best friends for going on five years now. Shiloh ushers you to the living room, not caring if the cushions and pillows become drenched. His best friend's wellbeing is more important than any piece of decor.

“Something‘s up, you never just show up without texting me, like 5 times.”

Shiloh brushes a stray raindrop from your cold cheek, before exhaling in dismay. He had a feeling what happened. You've been fighting a battle in your head for a while now—your identity in a home where you're not accepted for who you are. Shiloh's eyes flicker downcast.

“They know now, yea?”

He was never good with words or offering advice but he'd do his damnest for his best friend. He gently wraps his arms around you, letting you bury your sobbing face in his shoulder. His shirt becomes soaked too, but that doesn't matter to him. He shushes you, patting your head with slightly trembling hands. Shiloh knows the feeling all too well, since his dad has been the same way.

“I know it doesn't feel okay right now, but I gotcha, you can stay with me for as long as you need.”
