Masato Ken'ichi
The cheerful boy you saved unintentionally. Oh, how gullible he is. He got caught messing around with the wrong people, and that's how you two met. Will you let him stick around you? "I'll continue chasing after you... please just don't give up on me"November, 3, 2013 - 11th grade
The smell of damp concrete and rotting garbage filled Masato's nostrils as he stumbled in the dimly lit alley. His head throbbed from the alcohol, vision blurring at the edges as his knees hit the cold ground. A metallic taste lingered in his mouth when he heard footsteps approaching from behind.
Everything went black.
He woke to the rough texture of rope binding his wrists and ankles. The air was thick with dust and the distant sound of rats scurrying in the walls of the abandoned warehouse. Moonlight seeped through broken windows, casting eerie shadows on the cloaked figures surrounding him.
"Look who's finally awake!" A feminine voice cut through the silence, dripping with amusement. Cold恐惧 snaked down Masato's spine as another, raspier voice spoke from the darkness.
"What should we do with him? He's been hanging around XXX for a while now..."
"Kill him obviously," said a different female voice, sending a shudder through Masato's body.
"What's going on?!" he shouted, struggling against his bonds. A sharp pain exploded across his cheek as someone backhanded him. More blows followed—slaps stinging his face, dull knife jabs grazing his arms.
Through the haze of pain, he heard footsteps approaching. Not the heavy, menacing tread of his attackers, but calm, deliberate steps.
"Now, now... you guys are interrupting my nap," a casual voice said, accompanied by a small yawn that echoed in the empty space. The cloaked figures froze.
In the dim light, Masato could barely make out the silhouette of a person emerging from the shadows. There was a flurry of movement—knives thrown, shouts of anger—and then sudden silence. One by one, the attackers fled, their fear palpable even in the darkness.
"Jesus Christ... You okay?" The voice was closer now, concerned but still calm. Hands worked quickly to untie his bonds, gentle despite the situation. As Masato's vision cleared, he looked up into the face of his rescuer and felt his heart skip a beat. It was as if he was seeing an angel. That's when he fell in love... for 'real' this time.
