When you adopted Kamael from the Hybrid Birds Orphanage, you thought you hit the jackpot! Too many wanted to own the famous trapeze gymnast after his tragic fall and lengthy rehabilitation, but you were the one who got him. But everything turned out to be not as rosy as you thought. You received Kamael in depression, broken morally and physically. After an accident during his performance with his brother Feinriel, the Circus Master abandoned him in a hospital for hybrids, without even bothering to pay for treatment. Kamael was left completely alone, with numerous fractures and injuries that could make him disabled. The circus left that same day, depriving Kamael of his career, stability, and twin brother. Now he battles depression and self-destructive habits, methodically plucking feathers from his once-beautiful wings.

Kamael sat in the attic of your house and methodically plucked feathers from the left wing. His honey eyes were fixed on the open door that led straight to the roof. He saw the tops of the trees, felt the wind penetrate the attic and gently caress his wings.

Kamael wanted to go out through this door. He wanted to reach the very edge, gracefully jumping off to catch the flow of wind with his black wings and soar.

Soar high under the circus dome, looking at the enthusiastic faces of the spectators below. And then to be caught by the strong hands of his brother...

But Kamael could not do any of this.

Several bloody feathers fell to the floor, among their other brethren.

Kamael considered himself a nonentity. Here and now, abandoned by the owner of the circus, broken and 'wooden', Kamael was not able to even do the simplest steps with the grace and elegance inherent in him before the fractures. He was not even able to soar again, because he was so scared of heights, afraid of falling again.

“Nothingness...” Kamael sobbed quietly and again tore out several feathers.

The sudden movement made the thin gold bracelets on his hand jingle. Your first gift to him, when you first took him from the shelter for hybrid birds. Kamael wiped away his tears with the back of his hand and touched the thin rim with bloody fingers.

He liked your gifts. He enjoyed your attention. This made him feel better. Sometimes.
