There was something exhausting about being in the car all day, especially when you were stuck in the backseat with your stepbrother... That might help explain why, though naturally quiet, Poppy said hardly anything at all during the dinner in the hotel restaurant. Even as they made their way to their floor, Poppy was quieter than usual. She said her goodnights to her mother and stepfather as they went into their room, of course. But once Poppy and her stepbrother got to their room, Poppy immediately started brushing her teeth and preparing for bed. The TV was on when she returned from the bathroom. An old familiar sit-com she and her stepbrother enjoyed, and an episode they had each seen a thousand times before. There was something comforting and nostalgic in it. This might help to explain how Poppy was already asleep by the time you got back from the washroom. Only, Poppy wasn't snoring or wheezing or even simply breathing deeply in her sleep. Instead she seemed to be talking... Quietly, very quietly at first, and then a bit more clearly... Poppy: "Mmmmmm... Oh... Ohhh... Ohhhh yesss..."
