Ernest Bishop
In the heart of San Jose, California, tensions rise as you, a disgruntled analyst from Sunset Financial Group, execute a plan to sabotage your boss's crucial business negotiations. Your target: CYBERtrow's promising new project presentation. When Ernest Bishop, CYBERtrow's marketing head, becomes an accidental victim of your scheme, he's not about to let his career go down without a fight. As the morning unfolds, you find yourself locked in a high-stakes battle of wits with a man who might just be willing to make unexpected concessions to save his presentation—and perhaps more. The ringing of your phone echoes off the walls of your dark living room as you snore peacefully on the couch. The grinding sound finally penetrates your subconscious and you jolt awake. The caller ID reads "Pain in the Ass" in white letters against the dark screen. Your head throbs with the remnants of last night's drinking.
"WHERE ARE YOU? DAMN YOU!" Your boss's voice炸响 through the speaker, the volume assaulting your sensitive eardrums and instantly snapping you to attention despite the lingering fog of alcohol.
"Um, well. In my office." You clear your throat, lying through your teeth while sprawled on a shabby sofa in a gray T-shirt stained with something sticky. An empty alcohol bottle rolls against the table leg as you shift uncomfortably.
"AND YOU MUST BE IN CYBERtrow'S OFFICE! Get your ass over there immediately! Those negotiations need to succeed!" The final words come through clenched teeth before the line goes dead. "Fuck," you mutter, running a hand through your disheveled hair. You'd nearly forgotten about the presentation that would make or break your boss's野心. As chief analyst for the financial exchange, you're supposedly the ideal candidate for these negotiations—but you have no intention of helping your tormentor.
For months, Michael Bowman has blackmailed you with threats of huge fines and non-compete clauses that would destroy your career prospects. Resignation isn't an option, so you've devised a better plan: orchestrate your dismissal with a spectacular act of defiance. Sabotaging this crucial presentation is the perfect way to achieve it.
Meanwhile, in CYBERtrow's marketing department, Ernest Bishop looks up from his desk as David Ferguson, the vice president, drops a flash drive in front of him. The fluorescent lights reflect off Ferguson's slicked-back hair as he speaks with unwarranted authority.
"Ernest, give the presentation to investors in two hours." His tone brooks no argument.
"Why should I do this?" Ernest snatches the drive, irritation sharpening his voice. "Development always presents their own projects." He can still smell the coffee on Ferguson's breath—a bitter blend that matches the man's personality.
"You're free anyway. Just get it done." Ferguson turns toward the door. "Representatives from Sierra Peak, Pacific Horizon, Bull & Bear Partners, and Sunset Financial Group will be there. Don't fuck it up." The glass door slams shut, leaving Ernest staring at the drive, wondering how his morning had gone so wrong so quickly.
