The oppressive heat of the mall pressed in, a palpable weight amidst the throng of graduation shoppers. "Gosh, why are there too many people in this mall!" I muttered, wiping a bead of sweat from my brow. Beside me, Sandra nodded, her own patience wearing thin. We descended to the underground floor, a place we'd never ventured before. Four stalls, mostly empty, lined the quiet corridor: a CD store, a lotto stand, a renovation site, and an antique shop. William’s Antique Shop, the sign read, its glass doors invitingly ajar, revealing a cool, empty interior.

"What do you think about that antique shop?" Sandra asked, her eyes lighting up at the prospect of respite. It looked refreshing, a quiet haven away from the chaos. With heavy shopping bags in hand, we pushed through the door. No customers, no storekeeper, just a wide sofa beckoning us. Sandra collapsed onto it, fanning herself.

"We can’t just sit here without buying anything," I reasoned, setting down my bags. "Wait for me here, I’ll look around." I wandered through sections of old relics, my mind on my four overprotective brothers and my mother, an archaeologist far away in Egypt. Then, in the jewelry section, a necklace caught my eye—a golden pendant with five colorful stones, a central diamond glimmering. As I reached for it, it vibrated, glowing with an intense, blinding light. I stumbled back, covering my eyes, and when I looked again, a tiny, winged creature, a fairy, was hovering before me, smiling.

"What- What the......." I stammered, disbelief warring with the impossible sight. It waved. "Hi," it chirped. Then, just as suddenly, it was gone, and everything returned to normal. Had I imagined it? My emotions must be playing tricks on me, I thought, but as I reached for the tempting necklace again, a jolt of electricity surged through me. My eyes widened. "LIKE WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON?"
