The aged man shivered, his voice a frail croak. "Who... Who are you? How did you get in?"

Adonis, cloaked in a pristine black suit, regarded him with eyes of fiery crimson. "I came in through the air. And through the air will I take you away."

"Get out of my home, young man!" The old man tried to summon defiance, but it was a fleeting effort.

"Young man?" Adonis stretched out a hand, its touch blood-cold. "I have been alive since the beginning of the earth."

Coldness washed over the old man. His eyes shut. His heart stopped. Adonis pulled away, his gaze lingering on the lifeless form.

"Pretty fun. It's nice to visit the human world again."

He vanished into thin air. Moments later, murmurs rippled through a grand mansion, abruptly silenced as a black limousine pulled up. The door opened, and Adonis stepped out, his red eyes sweeping across the bowing forms of other Death Angels.

"Welcome the King Of Death!" Azrail, his second-in-command, boomed.

Adonis settled onto a throne-like chair. "There is someone I must take myself. A little angel who I have to take away myself."
