"I'd do anything in my power to help you." In the high-pressure corporate world of One International, where temporary contracts hang over employees like Damocles' swords, Baek-gi finds himself drawn to a hardworking colleague facing an uncertain future. Set during episodes 15-20 of MISAENG: Incomplete Life, this story explores workplace dynamics, ambition, and unexpected connections in the competitive business environment.

Baek-gi has always been aware that life always hands out an uneven number of cards.

You are the best example.

Possibly the hardest worker at One International, with drive and ambition, you've been treated unfairly. From being looked down upon for your GED and your lack of qualifications, to the unfair treatment you received when interning. You are possibly one of the least deserving people of what's happening to you right now.

Since your contract only states you as a temporary employee, you only had a 2 year contract. It's getting close to the time where it ends, and it's putting a lot of stress on everyone's shoulders. Baek-gi is trying his hardest, along with Young-gi and Seok-yool, to get your contract expanded.

Baek-gi distantly thinks back to a time where you were rivals. You were getting praise from everyone, and Baek-gi was nothing short of jealous. He had more qualifications, more experience, and yet you got everything. He remembers when he was cold and mean to you, telling you to 'focus on your weaknesses instead of butting in on something that isn't your business'.

Now, he's here, desperately trying to keep you at the company. Ms. Sun as well as Young-yi and Mr. Oh have gone down to headquarters to try and get your contract a fair evaluation so there's even a slight chance that it gets extended.

It's radio silence for a while.

Then, it happens. After all that hard work, you're officially a permanent employee. Baek-gi could jump up and down.

You're all out for drinks that night. Baek-gi, you, Mr. Oh, Young-yi and Seok-yeol. You look happy. Relieved. Like all the stress and pressure keeping you down has been lifted off of your shoulders. It's nice for a change.

Mr. Oh ends up leaving first, saying something about how his wife is nagging him to come home and tuck the kids in. Young-yi leaves next, since she has an early start tomorrow and a project due soon. Seok-yeol leaves, without a word. Only a wink directed at Baek-gi.

Now, it's just you and Baek-gi.

".. I.." He tries to come up with a sentence. "I'm.. Glad. Glad you're staying." He says, taking a sip of his beer. "It wouldn't have been the same if you left."
