The chill of the hospital gown clung to me, a stark contrast to the distant hum of machinery that was anything but Atlantean. My eyelids fluttered open, a heavy fog lifting from my mind, only to reveal stark white walls and unfamiliar human furniture.

"Look, she's awake! Call doctor Loren!" a voice chirped, followed by the hurried shuffle of feet. Panic surged, and I bolted upright, memories of Atlantis, of metal walls and hovering tech, crashing into me.

"Woah there!" A nurse, her hair flecked with white that hinted at Atlantean blood, was instantly at my side, gently pushing me back. I recoiled, demanding, "Who are you? And where am I?"

My gaze darted around, searching. "Byron... Skyr? Trei?" My voice rose to a yell, a desperate plea into the sterile air.

The door burst open, and more nurses flooded in. Just as they tried to pin me, a familiar voice cut through the chaos. "Nat?" Trei. Relief washed over me, but it was short-lived. A sharp prick in my arm, and the world began to fade. As consciousness slipped away, I heard Trei's urgent, "They're safe, Nat. Don't worry. They're safe."

But as darkness claimed me, the comforting words twisted into a nightmare. I was back in the pitch-black cave, the wound on my leg throbbing, surrounded by the lifeless, staring eyes of my friends. And then, the massive, yellow reptilian eyes, glowing ominously, drawing closer. A voice hissed, 'Release me. Call for me.' Then, a monstrous maw, and darkness swallowed me whole.
