FALLEN ROSES
Waking up in a stranger's bed, a pounding headache is the least of her worries. Her boyfriend Edward, the very man she swore to be faithful to, has just caught her in the act. But his reaction is eerily calm, almost as if he expected it. Now trapped in a car with the man she betrayed, a long, silent drive home forces her to confront a terrifying question: How much did Edward really know, and for how long?'Cheating was something I deeply despised.'
Those very words came out of my mouth that day, so certain, so proud, yet here I was, unknown bedroom, a guy sleeping next to me, his back faced opposite my direction.
'Oh boy, not again,' I said, my head starting to ache from last night's event.
I laid my cold hand to my head, trying to recall how I got here in the first place. I remembered being at my boyfriend's concert, we had a few drinks before dancing to the music, a tall guy came up to me asking for a dance, then somehow we landed here and... 'Ugh,' I sighed in frustration as I looked around the room before noticing my phone charging on the nightstand next to me.
I quickly unplugged it, slowly scrolling through the thousand messages sent by my boyfriend and my dad. 'Fuck!' I yelled, unaware of the man laying next to me slightly moving at the noise I made.
