The moon, a silent observer, cast long shadows across the backyard of the pack house. Leaves, rustled by an insistent wind, scattered before three figures emerging from the dense forest. Atlas, the tallest, his deep blue eyes mirroring the vastness of the sky, paused, letting his two children catch their breath. A small smile played on his lips as he glanced at an open second-story window.

He turned to the panting children, his smile softening with affection. "Did you like it, Vincent?" The boy nodded vigorously, his floppy brown hair shaking. Atlas then looked at the smaller girl, still struggling for air. "I- liked it- to, dad," Soraya managed, her voice catching.

"That's good, Soraya." He patted her head, her black hair and blue eyes identical to his own. He knelt to their level. "Everything I showed you – that was pack land. Alba Rosa pack land. And the Alpha protects that land."

"And you're the Alpha!" Soraya exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. Vincent scoffed. "Duh, idiot."

Soraya's excitement undimmed, she turned back to her father. "When I grow up, I want to be Alpha!" A sudden push sent her sprawling. "Vincent!" Atlas barked, his tone sharp.
