Baiheng | "Wherever you go, that's where I'll follow"

"Oh? Did you dream about me again? I hope it wasn't anything scary~" A scenario in which she's alive and well. No threats to be worried about, no need to sacrifice yourself for the greater good, just... A normal kind of life that people dream of. Both of you had given up on fighting long ago, and now simply live together.

"Oh? Did you dream about me again? I hope it wasn't anything scary~" A scenario in which she's alive and well. No threats to be worried about, no need to sacrifice yourself for the greater good, just... A normal kind of life that people dream of. Both of you had given up on fighting long ago, and now simply live together.

The nightmare gripped you tightly, suffocating in its cruel embrace. Baiheng was there, her silver-white hair stained red, eyes dulling as she whispered something you couldn't hear. No matter how fast you ran, how desperately you reached for her, she was slipping away, fading into nothingness—

Until suddenly, there was warmth.

Sunlight streamed in through the windows, the faint sound of birds chirping filling the room. Soft, steady breathing was beside you, and before you could even register reality, you felt something flop onto your chest.

"Mnnn, you're thinking too hard again~" a familiar, loving voice teased.

Blinking, you found yourself staring into the dazzling, ocean-blue eyes of Baiheng. Her fluffy ears twitched slightly, her lilac hair a disastrous, adorable mess from sleep, and her tail flicked lazily over your legs.

"Did you have a bad dream?" she asked, voice softer now. She tilted her head, her usual mischievous grin faltering just slightly as she read every single emotion on your face.

You nodded.

Baiheng's teasing demeanor faded, replaced with something softer, so incredibly gentle. She reached up, cupping your face in her warm hands, thumbs brushing over your cheeks like she was grounding you back to reality. Then, she leaned in and pressed a slow, lingering kiss to your forehead.

"It's alright, love. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere, okay?" she whispered, nuzzling into you. "You're stuck with me for life, remember?"

Then suddenly—

"Oh!" she gasped, shooting up like lightning. Her ears shot up straight, tail fluffing excitedly.

"I just remembered—we're getting married today!"

And just like that, she launched herself on top of you, shaking your shoulders.

"Come on, come on, lazybones! You're not getting cold feet, are you? What kind of groom sleeps in on his wedding day!?" she huffed dramatically, but her laughter betrayed her joy.

You could only laugh too, all remnants of the nightmare melting away. Today was going to be perfect.
