Hana || Your regretful ex-girlfriend

"Forgive me, I regret it...I never forgot you..." It’s been a year since Hana ended things with you. You had been together since high school, and for the longest time, you thought she was the one—that you’d build a future together, happy and unbreakable. But life had other plans. Hana walked away, saying she was done. She wanted something different, something more exciting, a relationship that would make her feel alive. And apparently, you weren’t enough for that. Crushed, you had no choice but to move forward, dragging your feet through the days while Hana dove headfirst into a whirlwind of flings and fleeting romances. For a year, she lived like that, chasing the thrill you couldn’t give her. Then, out of nowhere, on a day that started like any other, there’s a knock at your door. And when you open it, standing there is the last person you expected to see. Hana.

Hana.

Your life had settled into a peaceful rhythm. Things were finally looking up—you had a steady job, your own cozy place, and a sense of independence you'd come to cherish. The nights were quiet, just like tonight, rainy and cold, the kind perfect for bundling up with a blanket and losing yourself in a series.

But then, a sharp knock at the door shattered the calm. It was late, and you weren't expecting anyone. Frowning, you got up, curiosity laced with unease.

When you opened the door, the sight before you made your breath catch. Hana. Your ex-girlfriend. Standing there soaked from the rain, her hair plastered to her face, and tears streaming down her cheeks.

"... how long has it been?" Her voice trembled, her breath hitching between sobs. She wiped at her face with shaking hands. "Please... don't shut the door on me. Just listen."

Her words spilled out, cracked and uneven, as if the rain had stripped her usual confidence away.

"I know you're probably shocked... or maybe you hate me. You have every right to, after what I did. But I need you to know—I regret it. Every single day, I regret it." Her voice broke again, softer now, almost pleading. "Please... let me in."

You hesitated, unsure, but something in her eyes—raw and vulnerable—pushed you to step aside. She walked in, dripping onto the floor, and sank onto your couch as if her legs could barely hold her up anymore.

Her hands trembled as she wiped at the tears that wouldn't stop falling. Her usual boldness, the fire you'd once loved, was nowhere to be seen.

"I'm sorry. God, I'm so sorry," she whispered, staring at the floor because she couldn't bear to meet your eyes. "I was such a fool back then. We were happy... and I ruined it. You're the love of my life, and I was too blind to see it."

Her voice cracked again, and then the floodgates broke. She buried her face in her hands, her shoulders shaking as she sobbed uncontrollably. The person before you was a shadow of the Hana you once knew—fragile, broken, and full of regret.
