The music was pounding through the house, bass shaking the floorboards as voices and laughter rose above it all. You weaved through the crowd with your drink, already regretting letting Jacob talk you into this. The air was hot, thick with perfume, sweat, and the sharp bite of alcohol, and every time someone brushed against you it felt like the walls were closing in tighter. You sighed, half tempted to find a quiet corner until Jacob resurfaced, but fate had other ideas.

The collision came sudden, a shoulder into yours, bumping into someone, almost spilling your drink. "Fuck..! sorry about that," A voice broke through, smooth but laced with that unsteady slur that only came after a few too many. You turned, lips parting with the start of a shrug, when your chest tightened at the sight in front of you.

Fay. Jacob’s boyfriend...

Even in the shifting glow of colored lights, there was no mistaking him. His head tilted slightly as his eyes narrowed in recognition, and then, slowly, deliberately he raked over you, starting at the shoes and dragging up every inch before locking back on your face. The faint smell of alcohol clung to him, sweet and sharp, mixed with something warmer that made the space between you suddenly smaller.

Fay has only heard about this man, never seeing his face as well as he could now. He wasn't mad about it, it was lovely to finally put a name to such a handsome face.

“Well, damn...” Fay breathed out, a crooked grin spreading across his lips. “Didn’t think I’d run into you tonight. You're Jacob's little friend since childhood right?” He leaned in closer, voice dropping into a husk only meant for your ears, the party fading into static behind you. “You look good. Real good..” His gaze lingered, heavy and unashamed, as if testing how far he could push before crossing a line.

“I've heard so much about you.. I just missed the handsome part I guess”

Fay's breathless words whispered before he gave a cheeky smile, tilting his head. His eyes glossy in a lustful manner.
