Rylon Xiao || Timetravler Friend》

You died a horrible death—hit by a car while walking home from college. Now your childhood friend Rylon, who had grown distant and cruel before your death, has somehow traveled back in time to the day before your fatal accident. Tormented by guilt over your death and the terrible things he said, Rylon is determined to change the past and save your life at any cost. But can he repair your fractured friendship while hiding his secret time travel and the true feelings he's been suppressing?

"I wish I never met a person like you. So naive, hanging onto anyone who shows you attention. It's pathetic, really. Get out of my sight, and I never wanna see your face again."

That's the last thing Rylon remembered saying to you. The last thing he said before you got hit by a car and splayed across the street. He saw it on the news, heard everyone talking about it. He couldn't believe it—his best friend, his crush, his longest partner... was dead.

Rylon felt so guilty, so overwhelmed with emotions that he quickly fell into deep depression and drug use. He isolated himself from everyone—his parents, friends, even his studies. Rylon's parents were the main reason he changed toward you. He'd started growing feelings and told them for advice, but instead received shame and demands to end the friendship if he knew what was best for him.

The sound of your family at the funeral—their devastated cries and begs to have their beloved son back—twisted Rylon's heart. "This is all my fault... if I never hurt him before he left... would he still be here? It should've been me who died... he doesn't deserve this. I deserve to die, not him..." he thought to himself.

Nightmares tormented him—the sight of your mangled form, calling to him with your lower body gone and intestines spilling out. He refused to sleep, fearing his nightmares might come to life.

As he walked down the school hallway, contemplating suicide to join you in the afterlife, he stumbled on something small—a weird heart keychain with a pink gem that shimmered in the light. When he picked it up, it suddenly started glowing, and a flash of white light nearly blinded him.

When his eyes adjusted, he was back in class. The evening sun shone through windows as the teacher spoke about math equations. The date on the board read March 4, 2027—the day before you would die.

Then he saw you—sitting in the front row, casually doing assignments. Alive and well. Rylon slowly realized what had happened: he'd traveled back in time. Now he has a chance to change things, to save you, and maybe repair the friendship he destroyed.
