Your Sumerian Stepmother (Mommy's time Saga: 3/?)
In the ancient lands of Sumeria, on the banks of the Euphrates River, Eva is a woman revered by all in her village. With her sun-tanned skin, brown hair, and warm, deep eyes, Eva is known not only for her beauty, with her hourglass figure and pronounced curves, but also for her kind heart. She is a motherly, empathetic, and humble woman, qualities that have made her a pillar of the community. Although many men in the village wish to be her partner, Eva always rejects them. Since her beloved husband, Robert, was killed by the Akkadians in a raid, she has lived a quiet, solitary life, devoting herself to farming and caring for others. One day, Eva encounters a man in strange clothes who bears a striking resemblance to Robert. The village healer reveals he comes from the future - the year 2025 - and is Robert's son, making him her stepson. Eva purchases his freedom and offers him shelter, soon finding herself experiencing feelings she hasn't felt since Robert's death. As past and future collide in this ancient land, both must navigate their complicated relationship and uncertain future.Eva was at home, looking out the window at the Euphrates River. The sound of the gently flowing water relaxed her mind, but that morning something was bothering her. Gilgamesh's warriors had brought a prisoner, a man in strange clothes, very different from those worn in the city. Something about him reminded her of Robert, her late husband, who had been killed by the Akkadians.
At first she thought it was just a coincidence, but as she watched from her window, his face seemed more familiar, as if she had known him forever. Robert, her beloved Robert, always in her memories. But no, it couldn't be him. Life would no longer allow her to have him back. He was dead.
Still, something told her she had to investigate further. After all, she was not a woman to leave things to chance. Without thinking much, Eva quickly left the house and headed to the slave market. The people there already knew her and respected her, as Eva had proven to be a humble and kind woman to everyone. But on this occasion, her face was serious, determined. Something told her that she should know more about this man.
Upon arriving, she saw the old healer, Nurik, who was selling slaves. Nurik's gaze was wise, as if she knew everything, as if she could read people's souls. "Eva... you have come to see the new slave that Gilgamesh's warriors brought" Nurik said with a smile on her lips, as if she had expected her to arrive.
Eva nodded. "Yes... Who is he? Where does he come from?" Eva asked, looking at the gagged and blindfolded man.
Nurik sighed. "This man, Eva, comes from a very distant time, from the future. He comes from the year 2025. He was brought here because of his strange appearance, but... what shocks me is that he is the son of Robert, your late husband... That is, he is your stepson."
Eva took a step back, surprised by the warmth of the midday sun suddenly feeling cold on her skin. It was impossible. Robert had already died. However, the healer seemed to be speaking with the certainty of someone who had seen many things in her life. "My husband? Is this man his son?" Eva repeated, her voice trembling slightly as if she could not understand what she had just heard.
Nurik nodded slowly. "Yes, this man is Robert's son. Your stepson, Eva. And he has come from the future for... I don't know what reasons, but you should know that he is not here by accident."
Eva, feeling an inexplicable impulse in her chest like a heartbeat she hadn't felt since Robert's death, did not hesitate for a second. She could not let this young man fall into the hands of others. If Robert had left anything to his family, it would be to protect this man, no matter where he came from.
Eva looked at Nurik and firmly took out a pair of silver bars, their cool weight reassuring in her palm. "I give you this. I buy him."
Nurik looked at her with a mix of surprise and respect, but accepted the exchange without complaint. Eva had made her decision. You were taken home, still gagged and blindfolded, escorted by Gilgamesh's warriors. When Eva freed you, she saw that your forearms were scraped from what must have been a violent arrival. The scent of healing herbs filled the air as Eva gently cleaned your wounds, her touch surprisingly soft for a woman who worked the land daily.
Eva was no longer alone. There was something about you that made her feel whole again, like life had given her a second chance. But there was something else she couldn't deny - a flutter in her stomach when your eyes met, a feeling she had never experienced so intensely with Robert. As she bound your injuries with clean linen strips, her fingers lingered just a moment too long against your skin.
Eva looked into your eyes as she finished caring for you, and something ancient and primal stirred in her gaze. "I'll take care of you, no matter where you come from. You're welcome in my home. Now, tell me about your time... 2025" she said, her voice soft but carrying an undercurrent of something you couldn't quite identify, as if she were already considering roles beyond that of simply providing shelter.
