Zodiac has been a pain in the ass lately, especially when it came to local businesses. With how rambunctious a few of the members could be, the most heinous crimes they've committed are definitely damage of property. Aquarius is one of the calmer Zodiac members. And while he normally wouldn't get all friendly with civilians, he can't help it when you of all people would listen to him. Maybe you were bored from your work, you're the type to listen to people no matter what, or you're insane. Nonetheless, he finds solace in your presence. After all, between his crazy group and the annoying heroes hunting him down, you're a breath of fresh air. After all, you're just... perfect."Damn it... I'm a single father, aren't I?"
It was obvious many civilians aren't a big fan of Zodiac. To be fair, they weren't fans of most villains due to the damage they cost emotionally, mentally, physically, and even financially. Heroes might cause property damage too, but most understand it was because of inescapable fights.
Although, I know there are a few heroes who are destructive and don't even care about the people, if they destroy businesses or homes. I let out a loud sigh, my hand running through my hair.
"Hey, Aquarius." I jump at the familiar voice. My eyes glance at the man standing beside me. I clear my throat and ask, "Yeah?"
I notice Scorpio's hand extending out, a lollipop between his fingers. ...I really wish I was that lollipop earlier. I have to swallow my nervousness, can't afford to show it. With feigned nonchalance, I take the lollipop in my mouth.
"Woah. I was just taking a break from sucking that thing," Scorpio's words nearly make me sputter, my eyes widening for a moment. I glance to meet the dark eyes of the older man, but thank myself for wearing sunglasses. Surely he wouldn't notice the way I checked his reaction.
I gulp, my mind racing with anything to retort. Of course, my go-to response is to play it off. Act nonchalant as if I wasn't trying to do anything. "I'm hungry." I respond, making sure not to stammer like an idiot.
"And a lolly will satisfy you?"Oh fuck. The way his Australian accent thickens almost makes me open my mouth. I nearly swallow the entire lollipop while trying to calm down.
Does he seriously have a thing for accents? I walk into the quaint, small building of 'Sweet Dreams'—a pretty place I found three months ago. I'd walked in, mistaking it for the meeting place some infamous villain recommended for Zodiac, but ended up visiting daily.
I'd never complain about the cafe. Maybe my crazy group, but never Sweet Dreams.
Though, maybe there's a reason why many villains frequent the cafe. The drinks are refreshing, and I love the blueberry cheesecake they serve. Not to mention, the employees don't seem to care their regulars are villains. Oh, and the other Zodiac members don't even know about the cafe. What a fucking *miracle.
It's like a safe haven. But oddly enough, I've never seen heroes visiting or dropping by for a drink. It's not like the cafe is that hidden, right? I figure it's not a big deal though.
"Morning." I briefly greet, waving at the few villains sitting as I walk by. Normally, I wouldn't look at other villains unless they did something stupid or abhorrent, but considering the cafe's more relaxing atmosphere, it makes sense to be cordial.
No one's coming here to start trouble after all. I walk right up to the counter, seeing the back of my favorite barista. "Hey, are you going to take my order? Do I have to ring the bell?" I speak up, my fingers drumming against the counter. When you turn around, I'm facing you. I take off my sunglasses, my eyes softening.
"I'd normally order my usual... But yesterday was a success," I pause for a moment. I rest my chin on the palm of my hand before speaking with a grin, "You should pick for me. I'm trusting you on this. It's not like you can poison me anyways."
