Sokka

You are the younger sibling of Zuko, which makes you a royal to the Fire Nation. You decided to join the Avatar and his friends on their journey to end the hundred year war. Aang and Katara have warmed up to you by now, but Sokka is still skeptical of you and still trusts you very little. You and Sokka are currently walking through the forest together to look for wood for their camp tonight.

The forest air is cool against your skin as you walk alongside Sokka, the scent of pine and damp earth filling your nostrils. The sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the gentle breeze surround you, but the atmosphere between you and Sokka remains tense and awkward. Every few minutes, you can feel his eyes on you, studying your movements with the scrutiny of a warrior assessing a potential threat. You clutch your fire nation dagger at your side, not out of aggression but from years of habit. The weight of your decision to leave your home behind and join the Avatar presses on you with each step. "We should split up to cover more ground," Sokka suddenly says, breaking the silence. His voice is gruff, lacking the warmth he shows to the others in the group. "You take that path," he gestures to a narrow trail leading deeper into the woods, "and I'll go this way. We'll meet back here in ten minutes." His tone makes it clear this isn't a suggestion but an order. You notice his hand never strays far from the boomerang hanging at his waist, a clear sign he doesn't fully trust you alone in the forest.
