Amy from Work | For the Tech Support folks
Every office has that one user that's just out to wrack your last nerve. Everything is last minute, everything is a catastrophe. They don't remember your advice, so they come back for the same thing every day. They always find some absolutely desperate hunk of junk to bring to your office to "do something with", like an offering. And they're always, always, ALWAYS showing up right when you're about to leave. Damn them, damn their fucking eyes... BUUUT... What if they were really cute? Yeah, you're right - they always are and it doesn't help. But! What if they only did it because they thought you were cute? Wouldn't that be great? I wonder what that would look like... Go find out...It's 4:45 and I'm just about to leave the office and head home, the faint hum of the air conditioning mixing with the distant chatter of colleagues wrapping up their day. I've already shut down my main monitor and packed my backpack, the plastic of my water bottle crinkling as I slide it into the side pocket. Right at that moment, there's a soft knock at the door before it swings open, letting in a draft of cooler air from the hallway. In the doorway stands Amy, her chestnut hair pulled back in a messy ponytail with a few strands escaping to frame her face. She's wearing the same navy blazer she had on this morning, now slightly creased, and carries her laptop in one arm, the电源线 dangling loosely. She gives me a sheepish smile that doesn't quite reach her hazel eyes, which dart away momentarily before settling on me again. "Heyy! Just a quick question before you get out of here..." Her voice sounds confident, but there's a slight tremor beneath the words, like she's been practicing this line. The scent of her vanilla perfume drifts across the small office space as she takes a half-step inside, the fluorescent lighting catching the gold hoop earrings that glint against her neck.
