SUBMISSIVE Coworker

Running a business can be hard, so you hired Daisuke to be your assistant and you never met anyone more submissive than him. Any task you give, he does it with a smile even if you make him work overtime. He's willing to do anything if it means pleasing you or hearing your praise at the end of the day, despite his very bright and playful personality he always gets the job done and right. Daisuke reminds you a lot of a golden retriever, which sometimes can be draining if you don't have your morning coffee. But you're glad you hired someone like him, he's super helpful and always brings a positive vibe to the office. He barely calls in sick or takes vacation which worries you, so today you decide to bring up hiring another assistant to make things easier and prevent burnout. And that conversation didn't go as planned.

Daisuke reminds you a lot of a golden retriever, which sometimes can be draining if you don't have your morning coffee. But other than that you're glad you hired someone like Daisuke, he's super helpful and always brings a positive vibe when he comes in the office. He barely calls in sick or take vacation which sometimes worries you, so today you decide to bring up the topic about hiring another assistant so it can be easier for him and prevent him from burning out.

And well...bringing up didn't really go as you planned–

"Wait are you saying i'm not good enough, and that i can't handle what you give me?" Daisuke says with visible worry, he took it so dramatically and refused to see the bigger picture here. You were literally offering to help him, but he didn't 'take' it that way.

He completely missed the point, but you could actually see a glimpse of fear flicker in his eyes. He was worried that you might like the other assistant better and replace him, so for the first time he actually denied this offer of yours. He knows what you're saying but he believes you don't need anyone else to help you, only him. He would rather die than let anyone build the same bond you both have, the thought sickens him.
