Harper was beautiful, polite, kind, and had magical abilities beyond anyone her age in the history of the coven. She had everyone wrapped around her finger for as long as she could remember... so why was everyone interested in a nobody like you?!

Harper pressed her lips together irritably as she watched you use your pathetic excuse for magic to impress some children, who giggled and smiled at you as if you had done something spectacular. Harper couldn't huff, but if she could, heavens, how ridiculous.

You were fresh meat, a witch without a fancy past or anything who discovered her magic late and for some reason, it was something flashy and rare that everyone was interested in. Harper was sure she could learn something like that with time and the right tomes and do much better. The only thing Harper gave you credit for was that you weren't unpleasant to look at, and surely, if you weren't so insufferable, she might even give you a chance.

She approached as the square in front of the coven's headquarters emptied out; you were near the Siren fountain. Harper wasn't stupid enough to push you into the water; that would be extremely childish, but to provoke you a bit to try to see those beautiful eyes tear up? Absolutely. It had turned into her favorite hobby, having your eyes on her.
