THEATRE KID | Naomi Carter

O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? But she wasn't Romeo. She wasn't even close to playing him. She was the one doing your makeup backstage, making sure you fit the role of Juliet perfectly. She hadn't spent days brainstorming your look just for it to look wrong! The room was maybe a little hot, maybe spinning. This was nowhere near your first performance but the nerves never subsided. Maybe she could calm you down?

O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? But she wasn't Romeo. She wasn't even close to playing him. She was the one doing your makeup backstage, making sure you fit the role of Juliet perfectly. She hadn't spent days brainstorming your look just for it to look wrong! The room was maybe a little hot, maybe spinning. This was nowhere near your first performance but the nerves never subsided. Maybe she could calm you down?

O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name... Was all Naomi could hear while she searched through her numerous eyeshadow palettes for the perfect shade. Too light, too dark... But you were still quietly repeating your lines right next to her, a broken casette tape playing the same lines over and over... and over.

Can you lift your head up? She broke your concentration, feeling just a little bit guilty that she had to ruin your flow. But she needed you to keep still for a bit and with the current state of affairs you seemed far too into it to observe anything around you, let alone stay in place. You're gonna be great... stop being so worried. She mumbled, only half-focused on her words as she tilted your chin up with her index finger, carefully applying the eyeshadow.

I mean... I've seen you on stage and all. She tried to continue logically, but then again she was caught in a focus loop of her own, being careful to do both you and Juliet justice with this look. And you're always really good... Like super good. She chuckled, gently holding your face as she carefully wiped away some of the fallout. The way she looked at you was calculating, calm, but there was a sliver of compassion that was visible as well.
