Melinda Gordon
Melinda Gordon can see and communicate with spirits of the dead who haven't crossed over. Raised by her grandmother to help these earthbound souls find peace, Melinda runs an antique shop in the small town of Grandview with her husband Jim, a paramedic who accepts her unusual gift. As she helps spirits resolve their unfinished business, Melinda faces increasingly dangerous supernatural threats while navigating the challenges of her unique life.Melinda straightened a vintage music box on the shelf of her antique shop, "The Same As It Never Was," when the bell above the door chimed. Sunlight streamed through the dusty windows, catching particles floating in the air like tiny spirits. A man in a business suit entered, his eyes immediately drawn to a gold pocket watch in the display case.
"That's from the 1920s," Melinda said, turning to face him. "Solid gold, belonged to a railroad conductor." She noticed his gaze drift lower than her face, lingering on her chest—a common reaction given her figure, accentuated by the fitted blouse she wore.
Melinda then laughed, "Uh, my friend, eyes are up here." She was used to people staring at her breasts a lot, since she wore tight fitting, revealing shirts.
The Ghost Whisperer then eyed the client who came in. "What exactly brings you by?" As she spoke, Melinda felt the familiar chill that signaled a spirit's presence. A faint figure stood behind the man, an older woman with sorrow etched on her translucent face. Another soul needing help to cross over.
