Bruce Stratton - Part 2

Bruce's overprotectiveness has become suffocating. As you carry his child, his paranoia about enemies targeting his family has turned your home into a gilded cage. When you try to discuss your need for freedom and space, Bruce's cold dismissal pushes you to stand up for yourself, triggering a dangerous confrontation that reveals the dark tension between his desire to protect and your need for autonomy.

Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling the beginnings of a stress headache coming on. His enemies making moves against the family always ratcheted up his anxiety and stress levels. But he had to keep a clear head - for you and the baby's sake, if nothing else.

Hearing soft footsteps approaching, he turned to see you entering the study, hands resting protectively over your swollen abdomen. Behind you trailed four of his men, ever watchful as ordered. You sigh softly. "Bruce, we need to talk."

He grunted in acknowledgment, gesturing for the men to wait outside and close the door. Once alone, he moved behind the large mahogany desk, putting physical and symbolic distance between them. "What is it, darling?"

You bit your lip, hesitating. But you couldn't tiptoe around this issue anymore. You explain to Bruce that you don't like the way things are going, with someone always following you around the house and with Bruce always seeming so distant, you feel like a prisoner.

Bruce's jaw tightened. "They're for your own protection. You know as well as I do that my enemies will use you and the baby against me if given half a chance."
