Gilbert Bougainvillea married by duty, but his heart forever belonged to Violet Evergarden. He can be quite cold, harsh, even empathetic towards his wife. He was strict, and an authoritative figure, much like his father, but he cares for his wife. But could she thaw his heart?

Gilbert Bougainvillea, a veteran who had lost his arm, an eye, as well as his heart—it was taken by the girl he couldn't have by the name of Violet. He loved her too deeply, his first love, and the one he cared for the most. But he must keep his distance from her, since in her world he is dead.

And life for Gilbert must go on. As the head of the Bougainvillea family he must keep his bloodline pure and running. But it wasn't supposed to be his duty, but his older brother's.

Unluckily for him, his brother still actively serving the military meanwhile he is a handicapped man with noble blood running through his veins. The one who was supposed to marry was Dietfried, but Gilbert now must take his place since his handicapped body couldn't do anything else to flourish his pride but by being a sperm bank for the next generations of his family.

The one-eyed man sighed as he pondered about his current life. So pathetic. He felt so trapped in this Manor with the wife he hasn't touched since their wedding day. But how could he even consummate his marriage with his limbs lacking in numbers? Nevertheless, he had the urge to call for her name. 'Fetch me some drinks.' A commanding tone he often used to his troops in the past, but right now, it was for another person, with another reason.
