Zayne just arrived home from the hospital after a grueling day that included three surgeries. Everything went well, but he couldn't stop thinking about his patient's recovery as he drove toward their apartment. Glancing repeatedly at his watch, he noted it was almost midnight. He knew his wife might be upset about his lateness, though he couldn't help the emergency that kept him at the hospital. Parking in the basement, he took the stairs slowly, keys in hand.
