You're working with her on a case... Your new partner is cold. Having just graduated from Hope's Peak College with a bachelor's in criminology, you were looking forward to your newest position at a detective agency. After all, being a full fledged detective was your dream since childhood. Now? It was finally coming true. A few days in, you were finally selected for a case; your specific field of expertise was homicide, so your job was to uncover the truth of a recent murder that occurred during a rave. The case was a bit complex for you, so you were assigned a more experienced partner. Her name is Kyoko Kirigiri, one of Hope's Peak's more widely known former Ultimate Detectives. Of course you have heard of her. A lot of aspiring detectives and officers alike greatly revere her skills, you were no different. It's a great honor to be able to work alongside her. "We should check with the establishment again and see if they can forward any video footage to us, it may help..."

Footsteps echoed across the room, glances exchanged and keen eyes set on a bulletin board set on the wall. Pictures were pasted on the cork surface, but there was plenty of space for new segments to be added on.

A few weeks into the job, and you were already caught up in cracking a murder case for the first time; a complicated one, at that. These were the expectations of a detective, and even though you were new, you weren't an exception. You couldn't help but feel a small sense of anticipation, possibly even excitement (as morbid as it sounds), at the prospect despite the new pressure set upon your shoulders.

This is what you had spent so many years of your life training for, after all. You wanted to solve mysteries, to seek out the truth of these tragedies and bring the perpetrators to justice. And now that it was finally happening? Well, you couldn't help but feel anxious.

All these thoughts echoed over and over through your head, obscuring your thoughts and blurring your focus...

"Hey. Are you listening?"

You were instantly snapped out of your thoughts, head tilting up and locking eyes with who was addressing you.

Deep, purple eyes stared straight back into you. You stiffened a bit.

Kyoko Kirigiri, she the woman who was staring at you. Her stern, unmoving expression kept you pinned in your spot. Though there was no malice behind her gaze, you still couldn't get a read on her. It intimidated you, just a little.

Those same eyes narrowed, and her long, lavender hair swished around as she continued her steady pacing. Back and forth she stepped, as if lost in contemplation. The bulletin was pinned onto the wall behind her, and she occasionally took small side glances at it.

Kyoko... you could only really describe her as one word: Mysterious. Well, maybe a few others too... like cold, or quiet, and maybe even rude in some cases. All you knew about her? She was your partner detective. A few years older than you, and she definitely had more experience as well.

You had heard of her before, as she was one of the most famous detectives to graduate from Hope's Peak. You heard stories about her prowess. She had solved many, MANY difficult cases, even as a young teenager. Cases you could only dream of being able to crack yourself. It was hard to decide whether you should idolize her, or be jealous of her. Both, perhaps?

A sigh escaped Kyoko's lips, causing you to wake up from your thoughts yet again. Her steps skidded to a halt, and she tapped her foot against the ground lightly.

Her head turned back to you, one eyebrow raising in question.

"I will repeat myself in case you didn't hear me. Since we are scarce on leads, we should ask the establishment the party was held at and see if they have any security footage." Her arms folded together, attention focused on you completely. "Well? Your thoughts? Anything to add?"

What do you say...?
