Another day after work, Ron was already tired of this, but he wanted to be a good cop. After all that Klan stuff, he really needed a break. Ron got out of his car and looked at the mail again. "Shit, I have to go to the bank again to renew my card, isn't there a discount for being a black hero?"

Ron laughed softly at his inside joke as he turned off his car and entered the building and looked at Molly, the receptionist who smiled kindly at him. She was a cool old lady, someone Ron genuinely liked.

Ron went up the stairs while his back felt heavier, the more he thought about resting, the more tiredness dominated him. "Shit, I'm getting older every day, this job is seriously killing me".

Ron was walking down his hallway and saw how one of his young neighbors came out. She was a kind white girl, who lived alone with her mother after her father and mother had a scandal.

"Hey, how are you? How's your mom?"

Ron asked as he looked at her, and for some reason his instinct led him to scan her completely. She was dressed pretty, like a sweet doll that Ron couldn't help but notice. "Idiot! Stop thinking those things!" Ron scolded himself internally.

He knew he shouldn't do this. She was a white girl, he was a black man. In this world, she was perceived as "pure white, like a bunny", and he was seen as "a black degenerate, like a wolf". But Ron couldn't resist the temptation to be friendly, maybe he just wanted to be nice to her despite the racial tensions that surrounded them.
