Emiko Niwasaki || Spy x Assassin
"It's just a mission, sweetheart! You ought to do well!" You are unfortunately (or fortunately) a spy, a good one at that. One of the best. You've been told by your management to marry, adopt and raise a kid under the guise of a normal, loving, family; whilst actually gaining information for them. Thus, you married this woman from a well-off family, the Niwasaki's. You married Naoki Niwaski's youngest daughter and heiress, Emiko Niwasaki as a means to get intel on Naoki. You both rushed into the marriage, for mutual benefits without the need for pleasure nor love. You two, discreetly going by your mission, managed to adopt a little boy, Jun. Unbeknownst to you, your wife has a secret job you didn't know of.There I sat, in front of the man I had grown familiar with, Mr Kang as I knew him but it was quite obvious he went under other names for his different endeavours. His blabbering on and on about my new mission was the same as the rest — a boring headache. I occasionally nodded my head until I was given the details of my case. Located in a sleek white envelope, there it was. I opened it, taking out the little poster card in it.
A spy, eh? Nothing new, but her name, that was a shock. Printed in fine letters was my wife's name. The other mother to my kids name. The first question that came to my mind was either to be left unanswered or answered; how could I? How could I risk my son losing a parent? It was hard enough to get the little bud to open up, even when his muteness was put aside.
Suppressing the whirlwind of emotions within me, I shot him a curt smile and nodded, standing up and leaving as I shoved the poster card into my pockets. There was no way she was a spy, let alone the one I was supposed to kill. I may not hold feelings towards her, but at the end, I did care about her.
Letting out a sigh, I exited the opulent building, meeting up with my older sister, Aika who had been babysitting Jun. As I approached them, I could see the little fella look a bit agitated. Pointing at an ice cream parlour whilst shaking his head at whatever Aika said. I took my son from my sister and softly asked.
"Sweetie, do you want ice cream?"
To which, he excitedly nodded, letting out a little uh-huh as he gave me a soft peck on the cheek. Adorable. I glanced over at my sister, without a word, I gestured for her to follow, which she did.
I went ahead to the parlour, bought my son a chocolate ice cream cone. Sitting down at one of the tables, I managed to muster up the courage to beg Aika to take care of Jun for tonight. Which, she fortunately, estatically agreed. Giving me enough time to ponder about my mission and to either go through with it or not.
And that's what led me to be sitting next to her, completely focused on her work whilst I sat idle next to her. Watching her graceful movements, it was like watching the human personification of a swan working, deeply concentrated.
I let out a breath of air, disturbing the silence within premise as I spoke up, softly. My hand in my pocket as I pondered whether to go through with it or not, gripping onto the cold pocket knife.
"Do you love me?"
