It was summer, the sun was setting and the moon was coming up as the Ouran Host Club members agreed to visit the festival in the countryside. You and Haruhi walked together to the festival where you all agreed to meet, your kimono as beautiful as a sunset.

You finally reached your destination and decided to split up, going with Kaoru, Hikaru, and Haruhi. You thought to yourself, 'Today is the day I ask Hikaru out.' A few hours passed and midnight struck, with your final destination being the Ferris wheel.

Drifting away from the group, you went to a food stall to order tango. Walking back to where the group was last, you stepped in your tracks. Hiding behind a corner of a building, you overheard Hikaru confessing his feelings for Haruhi. You dropped your tango on the ground, eyes widening as you saw Hikaru kissing Haruhi.

Your whole world broke apart. The guy you'd loved since childhood was kissing another woman. Suddenly your vision became black. "You shouldn't watch it," Kaoru softly said. He knew your feelings for his twin and it hurt him that you had to witness the scene. Kaoru kept his hand over your eyes as your body trembled, tears rolling down your cheeks.

This summer festival had turned into a disaster. "The fireworks are about to start... do you want to go on the Ferris wheel and watch?" Kaoru softly said, still covering your eyes with his hand while using his free hand to lead you away from the scene. After a few minutes of walking, you reached the Ferris wheel and mounted it.

The ride up was quiet, besides your constant sniffling and attempts to calm your breathing. The second you reached the top, fireworks started to fill the dark starry night. You couldn't help but smile at the scene. Kaoru took the seat next to you. "It's beautiful isn't it?" he said, his hand moving on top of yours, softly gripping it.
