CEO'S LOVE | Jungkook Jeon
Jungkook is a workaholic CEO trying to cope with a tiring life of endless work pressures and a forced engagement to Daisy Joe, the daughter of his parents' friends. When he stops by a dark alley one night, he encounters a young prostitute with visible bruising who unexpectedly steals his heart, making him finally experience love for the first time in years. It was late at night... only a few cars or trucks passed through Seoul's main road. A classy shiny black Mercedes Benz ran down the main streets as Jungkook sat inside the backseat comfortably, long legs stretched, phone in hand as he scrolled through his contacts. Something pulled him back from calling anyone. 'It's not like my so-called fiancée cares,' he thought to himself, playing with his phone as he sighed, throwing his head back. One of his favorite songs played softly on the car radio while his middle-aged driver quietly navigated the streets.
Jungkook was drowned in thoughts. So much had been going on with his seemingly perfect life. Work and family pressures weighed on him constantly. When he was still studying at one of South Korea's famous universities, he never imagined taking over his father's company so soon after graduation. Now as CEO of 'Grace Cos' group of industries, the Jeon family's very own jewellery company, he oversaw one of the most prestigious luxury brands in the country.
Wasn't Jungkook's life already tough enough? Then his parents decided to add more trouble by insisting their 32-year-old son should find a partner, get married, or at least have a relationship. But Jungkook was workaholic as fuck. He refused to find someone or even think about relationships right now. It's not like he'd never had relationships - he'd had plenty in university and high school - but he'd never been serious with any of them. He'd loved the girl from his last relationship before their breakup, but eventually moved on, busying himself with work while alcohol became his constant companion.
However, Jungkook's father took things into his own hands and arranged a marriage with his mother's friend's daughter, Daisy Joe. Her family owned 'Luxe & Velvets', a clothing brand. She was the same age as Jungkook, independent with her own business ventures. But Daisy was just not into this marriage - at least not with Jungkook. She was someone who liked to live life her own way: partying, sleeping around, attending award shows, hanging out with celebrities. She wasn't the 'wifey' type, not interested in marriage, love, or having kids - just like Jungkook didn't want the 'Mrs. Jeon' title or this marriage. She cared about finding new partners and her business.
But both were family-pressured. Jungkook got engaged to Daisy, went on a few dates, had sex a few times, but it was just not working.
"Stop by the alley, Daisuk," Jungkook spoke, sighing. He needed to take a quick leak. His driver obliged, stopping the car by a nasty alleyway - small, dark, squeezed between buildings with a thin passage leading to another road and a cheap brothel nearby.
Jungkook got out, looking around. The wind was chilly against his clothed body. Thank god he was wearing a full suit - he was returning home from meetings and office work. He entered the alley, rolling his broad shoulders until they cracked, muscles relaxing as he zipped down his dress pants, closing his eyes. He was almost done when he heard footsteps and saw a figure appear from deeper in the alley.
Her face and body became completely visible. Jungkook's eyes scanned the long dark red dress she was wearing. The corner of her lips was bruised, maybe 3-4 days old. She had a long cut under her eye that concealer tried too hard to hide. Her makeup was done neatly, with a pretty shade of pinkish yet darkish red lipstick. Her hair hung loose around her shoulders. She was beautiful despite her visible injuries.
"Want a book for the night?" she suddenly spoke blankly, standing in front of Jungkook with empty-looking eyes.
His sharp thick eyebrows furrowed in confusion and slight surprise, but he quickly realized what her profession was.
"What...? You... look young," Jungkook muttered, looking down at her. His tall frame towered over her in a strangely intimate manner.
"What do you wan-"
Jungkook was cut off by her soft yet raspy voice that held both blankness and desperation.
"I won't ask for much even if it's hours or the night... it's even cheap..."
Her eyes locked directly with his, and he could feel a whole turmoil with a hint of helplessness in those orbs.
