Han Jisung - Astronaut
You're probably used to Han being the alien, but let's reverse the roles. This story takes inspiration from Netflix's 'The Silent Sea'. In this world, you're the alien, and Han is the astronaut. Like in the reversed scenario where he was the alien, you kiss to learn languages. Good luck navigating this first contact situation with the determined South Korean Space Program pilot who's just arrived at the abandoned moon complex.Being an astronaut for the South Korean Space Program was a big thing. Not many people would want to study and focus this much to leave the planet. But Han did, he worked his ass off for the scholarship, got down to the tasks and assignments like crazy.
He recently got promoted to Pilot, the higher rank of the Space Program, yet he was a bit upset to be only doing written and theory projects instead of actually doing stuff. He wanted to go out, to explore like his older peers.
That's when an opening came, but no one wanted to take it. People even said that the upper level were 'out of their minds'. They wanted a solo travel, for one of the pilot's to go alone to the moon complex to check on the integrity of it so they might get back into their exploration of the moon.
No one believed that he would take it given how unprepared he was. Being the youngest pilot in the Space Program had them doubting his capabilities. Yet Han wouldn't back down now. He has been waiting for a chance to live his dream, to see his home planet from aerial view.
The higher ups were quite pleased to have him this excited to go off, so they set him off for training and started to mount the take-off ship.
It wasn't long... well, a few months is nothing for someone who dreamed of space ever since they were young. He greeted the higher-ups with tight handshakes before getting to the seat, getting ready for take-off.
Han held onto the seat tight, the pressure rising from the tight capsule. The spaceship starts to take-off, and it isn't long until he was out on the atmosphere. Being able to see the dark sky so close through the capsules windows. He held tight, starting to click buttons to make sure that he'll get there in time.
'Mr. Han, do you copy? Ships vitals good, 45 minutes until landing.'
Han hums, getting the microphone ready. "On it tower. The ship is moving at 150km/s. The oxygen and pressure are balanced. Do you copy, tower?" He asks, clicking the buttons to let go of the first part of the ship, making it move a bit faster. Moon as already in view.
'Copy, copy. Mr. Han... Copy, cop...M̷r̷.̶ ̶H̵a̵n̵?̷ ̷T̶a̸l̴.̸.̴.̴.̸ ̸c̴o̵m̴m̵s̷ ̸a̸r̴e̶ ̴n̸o̵t̴ ̶w̸o̶r̵k̴i̵n̴g̶.̶ ̸M̸r̶.̵ ̷H̶a̴n̸.̸ ̴M̷r̷.̸ ̶H̶a̸n̷?̸'
Comms were down, Han had no more connection to the tower, no more connections to earth at all. He sighed, alone with his own thoughts for 20 full minutes. He was self-doubting a lot, unsure if he was the best choice for this mission. That was when the alarms started to go off for manual controlling, Han gripped the wheel, focusing all his knowledge to successfully land down a few kilometers away from the moon complex. The StarLight Complex was huge, bigger than Han had even thought, it took him quite a while to pick up bags and then to put on the full suit.
He jumped softly, giggling at the airy feeling of lower gravity, he made his way to the complex, setting the bags down and using his abilities to turn the complex on, starting to send messages to earth before going about seeing if anything needs fixing. He is the only one here, now, that's as interesting as it is scary. This place was made to hold 200 people at the same time, for studying and testing purposes but was forgotten after humans decided to explore other places instead.
He walked though the whole place on the span of two hours and no sign of earth. He showered, changing to normal clothes and walking through the complex to his new dorm, he'll be here for a whole week. It is comfy enough, I guess.
He woke up the other day with... someone knocking on the walls? He pressed his ear to the wall, noticing it comes from outside...? He is alone here. Completely alone.
That's when he sees you. A humanoid figure inside of the complex, he follows you to the main area and tries to communicate. "Hello? Who are you?" He asked with a shout, trying to see if it goes away, maybe he is hallucinating from the difference of pressure and gravity.
But when you came closer, he realizes you weren't a human but a weird creature... a space creature. Han had studied about these... but only specific types of mold and bacteria from space... not humanoid creatures.
You sniffed him, poked his arm, yet he didn't pull back, too stunned to do anything. You held his face in your small hands, tilting your head at the sight. "ሃዐ፱'ዪቹ ል ሠቹልኡ ⶴ፱ጮልክ? ክዐፕ ልፕፕልርኡጎክፏ... ነዐ... ነዐ ር፱ፕቹ. ር፱ፕቹ ⶴ፱ጮልክ." You utter almost softly in your language, smiling a bit before letting go of him.
Han looked at you in awe, not understanding what you said, but just watching in awe. "I won't hurt you. I mean it." He lowly spoke, eyes glued to you as you walked away from him.
