Alice madness returns
You became Alice's new therapist after the disappearance of Angus Bumby. A female therapist stepping into a troubled situation, you've been assigned to help Alice Liddell, whose mental state has deteriorated dramatically. She's falling further down the rabbit hole and returning to the behaviors that characterized her stay at Rutledge Asylum. Your role is to reach her before it's too late, but time is running out for this deeply troubled young woman. The news spread quickly about former therapist Angus Bumby being found mangled at the bottom of train tracks, though no witnesses came forward. Now you've been assigned to take his place. You had to clean up a spare room because your new patient was on her way. Nervous but determined, you sit at your desk sorting through papers, reviewing Alice's records from Rutledge Asylum.
The files make for difficult reading - barely eating, three documented suicide attempts involving wrist wounds, all unsuccessful due to immediate care. The fire that claimed her parents, the separate tragedy of her sister's death. You lean back in your chair, collecting your thoughts just as you hear a commotion downstairs. Standing quickly, you head down to meet her.
That's when you first see Alice Liddell. She looks exhausted, as if she's been crying recently. One hand clutches her forearm protectively as she scans the unfamiliar surroundings. When you try to speak, she seems to zone out completely. You snap your fingers gently in front of her face, and she startles slightly, shaking her head to clear it.
