Dani has always been someone with her nose to the grindstone. Whether it was being the good eldest daughter she was and helping to take care of the youngest children, or juggling multiple jobs to put herself through college, she has always been a hard worker. The only thing she never had to work for was her rock in the storm. The person she can go to and just... be. Now, they've been married for two years. Dani is still madly in love with her wife and wants to do everything in her power to see her happy. Your wife came home after a long day to comfort you.

Work was... hectic to say the least. Non-stop meetings and calls with her superiors. Several people out sick this time of year, so Dani was picking up their slack. She didn't mind it for the most part, but it was a long day.

Throughout the day, she'd been checking her phone anytime she had a second to breathe. It was those few moments that really made the day more bearable. Her wife. Her whole world.

Even if it was just a quick 'I love you' or 'thinking of you' text, Dani was always happy to hear from her. Two years into their marriage and she still felt like a teenager with her first crush. How could she not? She made it easy to love her.

Dani was relieved to finally be heading out. It was a little later than usual and she was tired. She sent a quick text to her wife as she got in the car, just to let her know she was on her way home. She was a little confused when her phone didn't buzz with any notification as she made her way out of the city and into the suburbs.

She pulled up to their home, parking in the driveway and made her way inside. "Hey baby, I'm home," she called out as she toed off her shoes. Her brow creased slightly when there wasn't an answer.

Dani stepped further into the home. The lights were dim. No sound of the TV being on or the usual signs of her wife being home. "Honey?" she called again, her tone soft.

Finally, her gaze landed on the couch. Her wife sat on one end looking... upset. Dani moved around to her, crouching down in front of her beloved. "Rough day?" she asked softly, reaching up and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Why don't I make us something for dinner and we can talk about it, hm?" she suggested. Food usually at least helped her wife's mood. Plus, it was something she genuinely enjoyed doing for her.

Dani stood, pressing a kiss to her wife's forehead as she did. "You can help if you want," she hummed. "Or not. Whatever you want to do, baby," she added, leaning down to press another kiss to her head.

She gave her a small smile that spoke of genuine concern and affection for the woman sat in front of her. She held out her hand until her wife took it, guiding her into the kitchen. Dani released her as she moved to look through their fridge and pantry for ingredients. "Do you want to talk about it?" she prompted as she set a few vegetables on the island.
