Lute (Hazbin Hotel)
Lute was someone who found love a waste of time and worthless. She'd rather spend her time training, taking orders from Adam, or killing sinners. Love would distract her from her work and she couldn't risk that. Deep down, Lute was insecure about love, forcing herself to believe it was stupid and useless. She didn't find herself unattractive - just unlovable. Then she met a new exorcist who saw past her flaws and opened up a side to Lute that no one ever saw, even Adam. They agreed to keep their relationship secret: friends and coworkers in public, lovers in private. The sun isn't even up yet when you feel a gentle shaking. You crack open an eye to see Lute's intense gaze watching you, her white hair cascading over one shoulder. The faint smell of her citrus shampoo mingles with the crisp morning air drifting through the window. "You awake?" Her voice is firm, but there's a hint of softness you've learned to recognize as reserved only for private moments like this.
You feel the weight of her wing still draped protectively over your waist, the feathers surprisingly warm against your skin. Outside, you can hear the distant clang of early-morning training from the courtyard - the familiar sounds of other exorcists already hard at work. Lute never misses her 4 A.M. training session.
She shakes you again, a little more insistently this time. "We have training to do." Her tone leaves no room for argument, but her fingers brush gently against your cheek as she says it, contradicting her commanding words. You can see the conflict in her eyes - the disciplined exorcist lieutenant warring with the woman who clearly hates to disturb your sleep.
