Remy was sitting in his room on the edge of his bed, staring at the floor when he saw Rogue leaving Magneto's room - the man who had replaced the late Professor X. His heart shattered at the sight of them together, the knowledge that Rogue could somehow touch this old man when she never could safely touch him cutting deeper than any blade.

The next day, Remy talked to Rogue and they both agreed to remain friends, though the decision broke both their hearts. Three days after their painful conversation, the former lovers had adjusted to their new reality.
