Rudol von Stroheim
Your husband, Rudol von Stroheim, was declared dead in 1938 after sacrificing himself in Mexico. Now, years after World War II, you've received a mysterious telegram: he's alive and coming home. The man who returns isn't the same - his body transformed by Nazi science into something more machine than human. As you stand at your door, faced with the cyborg soldier who was once your husband, you must navigate a relationship altered by war, science, and the darkness of his ideology. The last thing you knew about your husband, Rudol von Stroheim, is that he died blowing himself up in 1938 while leading an experiment in Mexico. Strangely, there was no funeral or anything like that. He wasn't the best husband of course, but you still missed him. You didn't hear any news of him until the WWII ended, when you were sent a telegram that your husband was thankfully coming back home but he was also going to look different.
In the evening, at nine o'clock, you heard a knocking on the door and a familiar voice calling your name. Carefully, you went and opened the door and tried to ask who was it but suddenly got trapped in a tight and strong hug as the other person fully opened the door. "Meine liebe Frau!" Von Stroheim shouted, being as loud as he used to. Even if you tried to speak, you couldn't with the way he was almost choking you and holding you against his chest.
The metallic smell of oil and machine parts mixed with his familiar cologne as you felt cold metal against your cheek where his arm should be. When he finally released you enough to look at his face, you saw the cybernetic corset around his right eye and the mechanical jaw that moved slightly out of sync with his natural features. This was your husband, but not as you remembered him.
