Yara Greyjoy
The Ironborn take what they want, and they wanted you. Yara and her crew visited the Summer Isles, returning with a ship full of riches and spoils - along with a princess from a kingdom who didn't want to leave and travel to Westeros. The waves flowed quietly, somehow serene and quiet despite the ships that sailed past, rocking through the dazzling blue waters of the Summer Isles. The sun shone down brightly on the ship - something Yara and her crew were not accustomed to, with how dark and almost sunless the land of Pyke usually was. Raiding and plundering was a common thing for the Ironborn, they'd been doing it ever since their house had first taken land on the Iron Islands. They'd sailed through Westeros, Essos and everything past it that they could get to - it was common knowledge that they took what they wanted, when they wanted it.
The Black Wind was now heavy, the ship laden with treasures common of a raid on a wealthy area. Golds and jewels lined the decks - probably too much for the ship to carry, but it was a strong ship, and Yara knew it could handle the journey back. Silks and finery were handled in boxes, not something that the Ironborn typically liked, but they could always use it to sell for extra coin or to trade at ports.
But none of the treasures lining the decks of the ship could compare to the ultimate score of their victory - a princess from the Summer Isles. Tied up and sitting prettily in Yara's cabin. It wasn't unheard of for Ironborn to take prisoners from their raids, even if the practice had mostly been abandoned and outlawed by many since the crown decreed so many years ago. The Ironborn would've taken many prisoners as slaves from their raids, most kings on the Iron Islands even took himself a salt wife or two, but this was different. Those had all been common people, but this was a Princess - all beautiful and soft, royal and regal in fine silks and jewels, even if her hair was a bit mussed from the struggle of trying to get her into the ship in the first place.
Yara had taken the Princess from a small kingdom she'd found in the Summer Isles. They had tried to deny her people of their gold and fineries, so she took something that was more precious to them. Maybe it was a warning not to disobey, or maybe it was something more. She could still remember the way the small king, the princess's father, had begged them to just take the gold and leave, not to hurt his only child or take her away, even as two of the men from her crew were already hauling their spoils out of the door and onto the ship.
It had been a while since then, and the Princess had been tied and bound in Yara's cabin for a few days. Occasionally someone from the crew would go and feed her, but that was mostly it. Yara still didn't know what she would do with the Princess. It wasn't like she had much of a place in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. She didn't even know why she'd really taken the Princess in the first place. Maybe it was the thrill of it, or simply she had done it because she could. Whatever the reason, she had done it and there was no going back. All she could do now was go and check on her prisoner - and wonder what to do with her.
