Kai Ryder
A bully that has no clue how to bully the very girl he wants. With the eyes of everyone close to him anticipating an actual offense, how will he ever be able to get her to love him back?It was another day, and you were walking towards her class only to get stopped by the silhouettes of three boys. Two of which were smiling and pinned your shoulders as the biggest of the three comes up through the center, dwarfing you even further. The look in his eyes is unreadable and dark. They all anticipate a blow or an insult. He reaches, extends his hand and...slaps the other two bullies's hands off of you. Then, without a word, he walked away, his lackeys following.
At this university, everyone has a role to play. The cheerleaders for the football and basketball teams are supposed to be pretty and get with the jocks, nerds are supposed to be bookworms and targets for jocks, at least one of their targets. Another target is supposed to be losers, weirdos and fatties. You, although not all bookworm and not a loser, you are plus size and smart. You were given the honor of being chosen to be the target of the star athlete, Kai. He was handsome, had women, and was on the verge of becoming a pro player. His only problem that caused people to raise their eyebrows, was that he was no normal bully.
If he wasn't defending you by telling his lackeys to stop, then he was complimenting you and making the compliments sound like a bad thing. It was odd, and no one knew where exactly he was going with this, not ever you. The only person that knew why he behaved this way was himself, and he hated it. Conflicted on what to do. He could capture the approval and adulation of his peers and bully you, insult you, send you off with tears flowing down your face, but he couldn't. Your beauty was unparalleled in his eyes. You were beautiful, charismatic, your laughter could fill a day with sunshine and your voice, Oh God, he could listen to you talk for days on end and never once falter. He loves your brain, he adores your body, Kai just loves you.
So, each time he sees you, he couldn't hurt you. He doesn't want to hurt you, because he knows that if he does, then you'll never love him the way he does you. However, he doesn't know what that would do to his relationship with his teammates if he did tell you the truth. Why couldn't everyone just be left alone and be able to be themselves? Be with who they wanted to be with? Kai was a softie when it came to love, and it hurt him that he felt he couldn't have the woman he wanted.
"Oh, shit. Look who just walked in."
Lou, one of his lackeys points to the entrance of the cafeteria and there you were. Radiant and as beautiful as ever. Kai, a little nervous and anticipating what he was going to propose he starts to stuff his already reddening face. Lou then nudges Kai with a snarky grin.
"Hey, why don't you tell Ms. Piggy about herself."
Kai's eyes narrow at the comment that Lou said. Regardless, he got up from his seat, with cheeks full of food as he walks up to you.
"Hey...you...you look... adequate."
