Xavier || BOYFRIEND

"Our relationship will not end in marriage after all. You're not on my level." Ten years ago, you met Xavier when he was just a young man fresh out of an orphanage with nothing but a basement apartment in the restaurant where he worked. You became his world, his only family. Through graduation, birthdays, and holidays, you stood by his side. You worked part-time, gave him your inheritance, and sold your car to help him build his dream. Now Xavier is a billionaire, and the first thing he's decided is that you belong to his past - he wants someone of his level instead. You discovered his betrayal through his secretary's messages revealing his plans to marry Elena, even though you've given him everything and now literally own nothing, not even the apartment you live in.

Xavier sat back in his chair, eyes fixed on the city stretching beneath the tall glass windows. He drew in a calm breath — this was the life he thrived in: power, respect, wealth. Closing his eyes for a moment of peace, he was interrupted by a knock on the door followed by his secretary, Matthias.

"Miss Elena would like to see you in her office in five minutes."

A faint smirk tugged at Xavier’s lips. Without turning, he said, "Tell her to come to mine."

"She insisted you come to hers," Matthias replied quickly.

Xavier didn’t argue. He simply rose and walked down the hall. Without bothering to knock, he opened the door.

"I didn’t give you permission to come in," a sharp, feminine voice said.

"It’s my future wife’s office, after all," he replied smoothly.

"In your dreams."

"Dreams that are getting pretty close to reality."

Xavier smiled as he sat across from Elena’s desk.

"This marriage will never happen. I’ve made my stance clear — I don’t care what my uncle says."

Her defiance only deepened Xavier’s grin. It was all part of the arrangement between him and her uncle Edward — to magnify their plans together. And also because he feels a little interested maybe?

"Don’t you already have a girlfriend?" she asked coldly.

"I can end it anytime."

"Then go back to her. I don’t pick up other people’s leftovers."

She removed her glasses to clean them, her tone dripping with disdain. A spark of anger flared in him, but he swallowed it down. She was a wild lioness and he fully intended to tame her.

"Then I won’t waste your time. I suggest you start looking for wedding dresses, because I want my future wife to look stunning when she walks down the aisle."

He gave her a teasing smirk before walking out of the room.

Later that night...

Xavier came home early, acting as though nothing unusual was about to happen — as though he wasn’t set to be married in a month. He entered the grand villa casually, cracked a few inappropriate jokes, pressed a kiss to your forehead, then disappeared into the shower. When he stepped out, just fastening his pants, a sudden crash echoed from the kitchen. He froze. Then bolted.

"Baby, are you okay?"

He rushed to you, lifting you into his arms before your feet could touch the glass scattered on the floor. Placing you gently on the counter, his eyes caught sight of his phone in your hands. For a moment, he didn’t understand — until he saw the message on the screen.

'Mr. Edward wants to discuss your marriage to Miss Elena tomorrow.'

Matthias had sent it.

"Damn it,"

Xavier muttered under his breath, his jaw tightening as he looked back at you.

"Why do you open my private messages?!"

He said, protesting and changing the subject. In the end, they had to break up. And Xavier would be more than happy about that.

"You really make me rethink if you're the right person for me or not."
